By JK
I've had my Ho'okipa for years now, actually I'm on my second pair. They've served me perfectly well in environments like a bright snow-covered mountain, Florida sun, and mountain biking.
The great...
* Their customer service is great. My first pair got a crack in one lens (by the nosepiece) while they were under warranty, and they were great about replacing them.
* The quality of the optics is solid. The gradient tint is one of those things that you don't notice until you try on glasses that don't have it, and I really prefer having it.
* They're lightweight, stay in place well, and fit me snugly.
Things that aren't so great...
* The case: the zipper broke pretty quickly. I've since switched to an aftermarket Oakley case, which works fine.
* They're not safety glasses: they're my favorite glasses, but if I'm working outside I can't wear them, since they're not designed to protect your eyes the way Gargoyles are.
* Similarly, the ear stems don't really work with earmuffs.
* If the sun is shining on the top edge of the lens, you get some serious glare shining in to the lens. With a hat, it's not an issue.
* They get dirty really easily.

By J. John
So I'll be honest here; I have a pretty dang big head. Big enough that I've had a lot of problems over the years finding a good pair of sunglasses that were comfortable to wear over long periods of times... even those that other companies claimed were designed for large heads. I'd pretty much resigned myself to not finding a really comfortable pair of quality sunglasses until I ran across a blog post where a fellow large headed guy recommended these. I figured it was worth a try at least, and ordered them.
And I couldn't be happier. This is actually my second pair (the first were lost when I left them on the roof of the car, and I had no hesitation buying them again. They are incredibly light and comfortable, fit perfectly, and the lenses are good enough that I often forget that I'm wearing them.

By A. Le
I got a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses 5 years ago for my birthday. They finally had a crack and so I bought this replacement one. What I love about Maui Jim is that they are extremely light and it doesn't feel like you are wearing any sunglasses. It also don't pinch the side of my head. I would recommend this brand.
